Emily S. Bordner

DDS

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Emily Bordner graduated from Punahou School before majoring in biology at the University of Washington. Dr. Bordner received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. Upon graduation, she was selected as a resident in General Practice and Emergency Dentistry at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, with a focus on emergency dental trauma and dental care for medically compromised and special needs patients. She then completed her Pediatric Dental Residency at The Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Bordner is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Hawaii Dental Association. In her spare time, she is an avid sports enthusiast and also enjoys travel, cooking, painting and spending time with family and friends.

Juliana Hsu

DMD, MS

Dr. Juliana Hsu is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She has several years of unique training treating infants, children and adolescents, including persons with special healthcare needs. She completed a General Dentistry Residency in Fresno, California, and then moved to New York to work with children and adults with developmental disabilities at the Rose F. Kennedy Center. Dr. Hsu also worked with patients affected by cancer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she completed a fellowship in Dental Oncology. She then attended the University of Michigan, where she received her Masters in Pediatric Dentistry. Prior to joining our team at First Smiles, she worked in private practice in New York and the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Outside the office, Dr. Hsu enjoys running and hiking the trails of O’ahu, snorkeling around the island, and exploring local farmer’s markets.
